Dragon Boat Festival

Organizers say the tradition is about seeking freedom and liberty while also celebrating community spirit, culture, teamwork and perseverance.

The Dragon Boat Festival took place in Reno on Sunday.
Although the official day is Monday, celebrations were held Sunday.
The Asian Community Development Council and the Organization of Asian Nevada hosted the event.
The festival featured traditional dragon boat races, cultural performances and other activities.
Attendees also got to try an Asian lunch and received rice dumpling gift bags.
